Why training with others is the way to get results

Let’s not beat around the bush, training alone sucks. We know that consistency is the key to getting results with your health and fitness, so here’s what we have learned about consistency and how training in a team environment will get you better results than going at it alone.

Our clients are busy professionals who don’t want to be competing for equipment in a commercial gym and don’t want to be thinking about their workouts. We have designed a program where all you have to do is show up 3 times a week with your team and work as hard as you can.

We all have days where we don’t feel like pushing ourselves (and taking it easier at times is not always a bad option) but when you see the other people in your team pushing themselves you can’t help but work a bit harder. Even though we create an environment where the only person you are competing with is yourself, when you see other people working to their limits you can’t help but be pulled up to that same level. It is no doubt one of the best ways to get the most out of your training. You don’t want to let yourself or your team down.

Training in a team environment creates more accountability than training by yourself. You are always accountable to yourself in whatever environment you train in, but you are now accountable to your trainers AND your team. You know they are going to be there working hard so you want to be there experiencing it with them and knowing that other people are going through the same pain is both motivating and rewarding. There is a sense of togetherness.

It can be quite daunting when you first think about joining a team. Am I fit enough? Will the others be stronger than me? Will I hold the group back? All these thoughts are normal! Quite often people shy away from training with others for these reasons but in our experience it's exactly what people need. We are making personal training affordable and the consistency of training is what is needed to get results.

When you get over the initial reservations and realise everyone is in the same boat, trying to improve their health, it’s a much more enjoyable environment training with others and you realise you don’t have to suffer alone and unmotivated. You never know, you might even find it fun!

Yours in health,

The Foundation Team
